Long Guan Osmanthus
龙冠桂花
Osmanthus at full bloom - apricot, honey, a green edge that keeps it honest.
Osmanthus is the scent of a Chinese autumn, and it is easy to make too sweet. This one keeps the green edge: apricot and honey up front, then the flower itself, then a quiet woody base. Ten and a half centimetres, six grams - short enough to burn through in one sitting.
